$2875 for Common Saints MS65s- NOW Boys & Girls
http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGuid...+Gaudens+%2420
On the way from $5,000.00 to $25,000.00 (depending upon how dumb the White House is) each I'd bet YA! :36_1_34::36_1_34::yes: Last time they hit $4,000.00 each with only ONE/FIFTH to ONE/TENTH the money supply. Since OBAMA is not doing so good (in the smarts department) - I would expect it toward the $20 grand mark. |
Re: $2875 for Common Saints MS65s- NOW Boys & Girls
They were MS65 - $1000 bills 9 years ago - now they are $3000 almost! :5_1_120:

Re: $2875 for Common Saints MS65s- NOW Boys & Girls
Already out of my reach.
Love to own one though. However, I have a question. HS, aren't you just a bit aprehensive about numismatics if things go down like many here believe they will? |

I bought NGC's and PCGS 61 and 62 for under $700 in 2007 and they've doubled.

Numismatic gold, like most financial things in life, is just a big game of musical chairs. Don't be left standing when the music stops.

also - frankly the REALLY rich use them for INSULATION - as if you only pick the ones following this formula you'll be OKAY. Saints: MS63 - buy at less than 100% premium on gold MS64 - buy at less than 150% premium on gold MS65 - buy at less than 300% premium on gold Math works like this now: so 939 X 200% = $1878 (prices are north of that) so 939 X 250% = $2347 (prices are topping out) so 939 X 300% = $2817 (prices are topping out) I think that GOLD going to BUMP up to $1250 to $1500 rather shortly because OBAMA is failing (thank GOD) to secure his socialist worldview. Many want a portable way to hold MUCH! Hope that helps. VEHICLES: BULLION coins gold silver platinum Bullion big silver Rare and numismatics gold silver platinum IRAs gold stocks gold majors silver majors When all the 3 to 6 trillion of OBAMA dollars hits the metals will SCREAM! Perhaps ten to twenty times as the OBAMA dollars is like FUEL to the fire. |

Re: $2875 for Common Saints MS65s- NOW Boys & Girls
I belive numismatics serve a needed purpose.
People of money need a place to store wealth they can hold, and to preserve the future prosperity of their families. What else can you own other then gemstones, that represents wealth and value in a documented item, that is unique, has a book value, and in such a small package? There may be times these coins fluxuate in price, but they will never go to zero, like paper wealth can. |

Re: $2875 for Common Saints MS65s- NOW Boys & Girls
I was in CNI a couple years ago when this guy and a frind walk in with a $100,000 worth of nice saints that CNI had put him into. He had only kept them a few months and was mad as hell that they didn't perfom like he had hoped. He gave the guys a rash of shit and wanted them all sold right then.
I said to him, I think you are making a mistake and that this market in gold is just getting started. He didn't care and said he'd rather be in the stock market. The guys at CNI fanned out the 100 G's cash, and he and his friend left in a huff. Me and the guys just shook our heads. I bet he'd be sorry today, if he only knew. Jerk! |

With numis you generally have to hold for 3-10 years to realize a nice profit. That guy was a fool, EE he could have doubled his $...

Really, in this time and place, it's pure gambling - just like the stock market. Only with a numismatic at least you have a floor of the intrinsic metal value. |

In other words, a 1 ounce numismatic today is $3500, and in 2012, it's $11250...only because Gold is then $10,000/ounce. |

I paid $409 (shipping included) for a PCGS MS61 1893 $10 Liberty Head less than two years ago on fleabay. MS 60 is at $775 and MS 62 is at $835 right now. While this is a nice appreciation in dollar terms, it's the last coin I'd part with. I typically don't buy numis coins. I bought this one because I wanted to own a little piece of our nation's history that I could pass down. I'd be hard pressed to part with it.

Today the US Mint allowed me to receive my ONE UHR double Eagle 2009. It was beautifully packaged with the case the wood the packaging etc. The coin was beautiful too. Really well done and quite something to hold in the enclosed plastic case. Under 10X power it looked fine; at least a MS69 possible MS70. Now I have many, many, 1907-1928 Saints all the way from a AU55 in 1909/8 to many MS65s. Mostly PCGS; rest NGC slabbed. I have held the raw ones and I would love to have bought the 1907 HD - but the price did not match the rariity factor for me mathmatically. I do my own thing on this. Few years ago I picked up a 1922 MS65 Saint for twice the value of gold. Now it's a tad higher some 7 times. I also collect the Liberties in $10 and $20 factors from 1850 onward. All that said - I really appreciate the BIGGER BIGGER BIGGER old Saints. The reason is that the NEW 2009 one looks like my Liberties and my Indians in $10 gold size. I wish I could have bought MORE examples of the 2009 however. I'll probably grab at least a few more. I can see why the SAINTS jumped up in price once the public started to see the 2009 - they wanted the real thing in history - and IT'S BIGGER LOOKING. My 3 cents worth 2 cents, HS |
Re: $2875 for Common Saints MS65s- NOW Boys & Girls
I could kick myself for not picking up one a few years back for close to spot prices. I always thought these coins were as common as dirt and were made into the millions thus they would never be worth much.
Do you have mintages and PCGS/NGC slabbed numbers for these coins? |

I would highly recommend the 1926 Saint Gaudens $20 because one I can't find too many for sale two in MS66 they bring a HIGHER premium three they are a steal for the NUMBERS encapsalated compared to the rest BUY all in MS65 also take a LONG second look at the second coin = 1923 "D" for they are also a tad smaller in NUMBERS certified. And the premium is the same as the 1927 1925 1924 (don't buy extra too many) and then third coin = 1928 just doesn't have a LOT out there EITHER but the 1926 is a steal. I did this same similar TYPE thing for the 1922 Saint two years ago around $1700 - now it's around $5700. try gainesville coins. com Happy hunting I've done 100 hours of research on these for fun - not boring like the bullion coins - :signs14::wink::yes::111: |
